EARLY SUMMER:

  • Prune spring flowering shrubs such as Forsythia.
  • Apply grub preventor to lawns
  • Mow grass at a height of 3-3 ½” to help protect from summer stress. Keep blades sharp!
  • Monitor for pests — insects, weeds, and diseases, and treat accordingly.
  • Weed beds
  • Fertilize annuals

MID – LATE SUMMER:

  • Tip prune new growth on shrubs.
  • Continue mowing lawn high — 3-3 ½”
  • Continue monitoring for lawn and landscape pests
  • Water lawns to keep them green. Grass needs 1” of water per week to stay green.
  • Water infrequently (2-3 times a week) for long intervals (45 minutes)
  • Weed beds
